The national animation industry leader, Les’ Copaque Production Sdn Bhd today was named as one of the main sponsors for the Selangor FA grassroots football development program, FAS Soccer School.

In a ceremony held today at the headquarters of Les 'Copaque in Section 13, Shah Alam, the country's animation giant has signed an agreement with the Selangor FA which sees Les' Copaque Production Sdn Bhd announced as the Official Red Giants Football Development Program Partner Giants.

Also present at the ceremony were FAS President, DYTM Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj besides being witnessed by the Managing Director of Les ’Copaque Production Sdn Bhd, Haji Burhanuddin Mohd Radzi and the Director-General of Creative Content, Hajah Ainon Binti Ariff.

Speaking to the media, FAS Secretary-General, Dr. Johan Kamal Hamidon stated that the agreement between FAS and Les ’Copaque Production Sdn Bhd is a collaboration that complements and is in line with the objectives of implementing the FAS Soccer School program.

“FAS is grateful for the trust given and grateful for this cooperation because Les' Copaque Production Sdn Bhd is not only an international brand of animation, but it is also close enough to the hearts of children in Malaysia, especially in the animation show Upin & Ipin," said Johan.

"So, for the FAS Soccer School program to achieve its objectives, the close cooperation between these two entities can be seen as a catalyst for FAS to instill interest in football in children, especially those living in the state of Selangor."

Les ’Copaque Production Sdn Bhd Creative Content Director, Nur Naquyah Binti Burhanuddin also agreed with the approach and hoped that both brands could grow more closely with this agreement.

"One of our mission at Les' Copaque Production Sdn Bhd is to provide other added value to our audience apart from entertainment alone and our direct involvement with the FA Selangor grassroots football development program in line with the mission," explained Nur Naquyah.

"Our hope is to see more children playing football more actively with our involvement and maybe, one day there will be new football talent that can be born from this program," she added.

Sponsorship in the form of cash from Les ’Copaque Production Sdn Bhd is seen to be able to have a big impact on the implementation of this program, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic hit.

FAS Soccer School which was just launched last year is now joined by 6 schools throughout the state of Selangor and saw more than 500 children aged 7-12 years and 24 coaches directly involved with this program.

The Selangor FA is grateful to Les ’Copaque Production Sdn Bhd for this cooperation and hopes that it will continue for the long term and provide more opportunities and benefits to ensure the future of Selangor and Malaysia football in general.
